Hi!  I’m Joe, and I want to represent you as our new District 2 City Councilor.

I aim to restore the foundation of our city by

(1) stabilizing our city finances and operations,

(2) improving our local economy so we look and function like a world-class city, and

(3) increasing accountability at City Hall by improving strategic planning and including community input.

I am proud to have served on the City of Santa Fe Public Safety Committee for the past 3 1/2 years, giving me insight to some of the most important aspects of city government.  On this committee I hear from the police and fire chiefs and emergency management staff every month.  I am pleased with the progress of these departments in my time on the Committee, even while I know there’s more work to be done.

As a City Councilor I will bring to City Hall my 30 years experience as a successful small business owner in Santa Fe.

The same common sense approach that has kept my businesses alive will carry through to decision making on the City Council.  I am extremely sensitive to wasteful spending and poor decision making, because such practices would have ended my own business long ago.

I have employed hundreds over the years, and I support the Living Wage minimum wage but want to do even better.  I’m proposing a three-tiered minimum wage to recognize the need for different wages for both inexperienced and more experienced workers.  Please read about this and my other proposals on my Platform page.

Please also read more about my professional and personal background on my Bio page.

On my site you can also keep up with coming events, submit a testimonial, sign up to get a yard sign, or submit your name to publicly endorse my candidacy.  I will also post information on Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) and early and absentee voting.

Thank you for voting for me as your FIRST or SECOND choice on the ballot in March!
